Gospel of Real Prosperity

Recently I was involved in a short discussion with some of my friends in facebook about a video shared there about some preachers who preach prosperity. I thank AJ for sharing it. This morning I was seriously concerned about that because I should understand that teaching properly because, I am in Lord’s ministry and I am entitled for all the privileges set apart for children of God. I again went through the discussion in facebook and these are my understanding.

Our God is a God of blessing, a loving father and above all he is the Creator, Sustainer and controller of this universe. He is immensely rich and able to make people rich. All wealth belongs to him. As a child of God I have the privilege to ask what I want. But God have the choice of answer because He have a unique plan for each individual in this earth and He wants to accomplish it through our circumstances and situations. It the prosperity theologians were right, Paul would be the richest man in this world. But see what happened to His own disciples? Everyone suffered and died.

God is giving us everything to live according to His purpose for us in earth. We have the right to ask whatever we need to accomplish His purpose in our Life. Then I join Pastor Paul where he says  “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:11-13 (New International Version)

Prosperity is th reward of God which we enjoy when we live a life of complete surrender to the plan of God in our lives. It may not be the financial wellness, Physical wellness or any kind of prosperity as we measure today. But We can have the prosperity in our sickness, tough life situations and even in death. Prosperity is a situation where “Christ lives in you” (Galatians 2:20), God dwelling with me ( Psalms 121) and I am the Heir of God (Romans 8:17). We are not satisfied because we don’t “feel” it.

We need feelings. We need something tangible. We need some thing to touch and See. Or else we are not able to believe. If we see material prosperity, we would say we are blessed. But bible say, live by faith. Book of Hebrew chapter 11 teaches us the results of faith. We need to believe what ever Christ has promised were true. Jesus is trustworthy. We should believe that we have all the privileges of a child of God. If we believe that we are saved by faith, ( Eph 2:8), We should believe that We have the prosperity which God intended for us to live in the center of God’s will. Once we understand His will for us and our lives, we have all the freedom and right to ask whatever we need to fulfill His plan, We have the right to ask for those things Satan tells us that he would take away ( That is a fake claim). We have the right to ask the health, authority,  money and materials for accomplish His plans. But what wee see in contemporary  prosperity preachings is greed more than accepting God’s plan.

Preachers are making people greedy and they grab audience’s money to satisfy their greed. Gospel of  great salvation is being seated behind the Vail. Multitudes gather for hear motivating preach and not for know the real Jesus and and His purpose.  That is the reason they always use unconventional methods and mysterious actions. People now need ‘Jesus of Blessing” and ‘Jesus the healer’ and they are not knowing ‘Jesus the Savior’ Yes Jesus will heal, Jesus will bless but we are commanded to preach ‘Jesus the SAVIOR ( Matthew 28:18-22).

We need to beware of the false teachings and false teachers. Other ways we are fools (Gal 3:1, Philippians 3:2 ) Read BIBLE, not only what others wrote about Bible. Hear from God, not only what others say that they heard from God. Check each interpretation with Bible before you believe that.
‘But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ’ (Philippians 3:7-8)
